Phase I-II

1.      Androgenics

Androgenics compounds are being developed to treat patients with prostate cancer. These small-molecule drugs have several specific actions. First, they inhibit enzymes that are responsible for production of testosterone, a male hormone that stimulates the growth of prostate cancer. Second, they both bind and antagonize the androgen receptor - a protein that is responsible for mediating the hormone actions of testosterone. In addition to increasing levels of Bcl-2 protein, another feature of prostate cancer progression is the development of mutations in the androgen receptor. The Androgenics compounds have also been shown to antagonize the mutated androgen receptors that arise during hormone treatment for prostate cancer. For these reasons, the Androgenics compounds may prove to have very broad use for the hormone-sensitive stage of prostate cancer.

2.      Ganite

Ganite (gallium nitrate) is used for the treatment of cancer related hypercalcemia that is resistant to hydration.

3.      Genasense

Genasense inhibits production of Bcl-2, a protein that is highly expressed in malignant cell from patients with cancers. By reducing the amount of Bcl-2 in cancer cells, Genasense may enhance the effectiveness of current anticancer treatments.

4.      Tesetaxel

Tesetaxel is a novel oral semi-synthetic taxane and useful for resistant to conventional taxanes.
