1. Advexin

Advexin, adenoviral p53 gene therapy, supplies p53 protein in very high concentration in cancer tissue which selectively kills cancer cells while not harming the surrounding normal cells. P53 is a normal constituent of cells and is known as a tumor suppressor because it provides a powerful halt signal on cell growth. One of the major roles of this protein is to recognize when the cell had been damaged by mutation and stop cell growth to initiate repair.

2. INGN241

INGN241, adenovial melanoma differentiation association gene-7 (MDA-7) protein gene therapy, expresses MDA-7 protein. The expressed MDA-7 protein is active and has a wide area of biological effect. MDA-7 functions not only as a tumor suppressor, but also as an immune enhancing cytokine which may be significant as a cancer drug.

3. VRX007 (INGN007) and VRX009

VRX007 (INGN007) and VRX009 are novel oncolytic adenoviruses that have been engineered to kill cancer cells via viral replication. These viruses can be engineered so that they are active in specific types of cancer cells.
